We start most engagements with a short paid scoping phase — typically one to three weeks — to look at the problem up close, talk to the people involved, and agree on what success looks like. That phase ends with a written scope and a fixed or not-to-exceed price for the work that follows.
From there, the typical engagement is two to six months, fractional or project-based. Some clients keep one of us on an ongoing fractional basis after the initial project concludes; others want the fix-and-hand-off model. Both are fine.
If both practices are relevant, we'll say so. If only one is, we'll say that too.
